Welcome to Dual Immersion Academy, where our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) plays a vital role in shaping our vibrant school community.

Our PTA is deeply involved in enhancing the educational experience and cultural immersion of every child at our school. With a focus on collaboration, engagement, and support, our PTA ensures that the voices of all stakeholders are heard, creating an inclusive environment where every member contributes to the success of our diverse student body.

Meetings

PTA meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month (with the exception of January and March) from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Positive Behavior System

The Students at the Dual Immersion Academy participate in a school-wide program called the Positive Behavior System.

They have named the Bobcat as their mascot and PURR as their motto. PURR stands for behaviors that are Positive, United, Respectful, and Responsible. They have learned and practiced positive behaviors throughout the school, not just in their classrooms. When you visit you will see evidence of this program everywhere. You will see students "purring" in the classrooms, in the hallways, in the restrooms, on the buses, in the cafeteria, and on the playground. Some students have earned a "PURR Ambassador" button to show that they make good choices and demonstrate good behaviors at school.

Student Success Tips

*Support your student establish schedules and routines that include:

1) Sufficient rest/sleep each night

2) Healthy foods

3) Good hydration (drinking plenty of water)

*Support good reading/mathematics habits daily at home, using strategies that motivate your child. Please ask one of your child’s teachers if you would like ideas and/or assistance in this area.

*Provide 20 minutes each day (motivating and supervising) in which your child works on the computer, tablet or cellphone with the academic activities and programs available to DIA students through their Classlink page:

1. Reading programs (available in both languages): myLEXIA, RAZ-KIDS and ESTRELLITA

2. Math programs: DREAMBOX, KHAN ACADEMY and KENTUCKY MATH
